How To Make American Flag Shorts

This is a guide on how to make your own American Flag Shorts! This style of shorts has become a very popular trend this summer and now you can make your own, very inexpensively.

Step 1: Get a pair of Jean shorts.
When I made my own I used an old pair of Selena Gomez “Dream Out Loud” jeans and simply cut them to the length I preferred. I left the ends of the shorts frayed making it easier and it also gave the shorts a vintage look.

Step 2: Materials
– Fabric paint; white, red, and possibly navy blue
– Painters Tape (any wide tape will work)
– Star Stamp/Sponge
– Pencil or Whiteout pen

Step 3: Making the Stars
– Stamp/Sponge: Plan out where you want your stars to be placed on one side of the pants. Usually the left side if the shorts are laid out in front of you. Make sure to not go on to inside side of the pocket or the zipper flap. Then dip your stamp/sponge in the white fabric paint making sure it is fully covered with paint (If not use a paint brush to cover the stamp/Sponge with paint). Press the star onto the shorts until satisfied with amount and look of stars.
– Whiteout pen/pencil: If you do not have a star stamp/sponge you can cut out a star stencil from a piece of paper then lay it on your shorts and trace with a pencil or whiteout pen. Then fill in the trace of the star with white fabric paint.

Step 4: Making the Stripes
To make the stripes on the shorts place tape horizontally across one pant of the shorts. Leaving space that is the same width as the tape in between each tape stripe. Make sure the tape sticks. Then fill in the spaces between the tape with red fabric paint. Once the paint has dried take off the tape. Now fill in the empty stripes with white fabric paint carefully or place tape on top of the red stripes to make sure your stripe lines are perfectly straight.

Step 5: Finishing the Shorts
Take of the tape and let all off the paint dry.

Yummy Yogurt Pops

In a blender, whirl together one cup of plain or flavored yogurt, one cup of mixed summer fruit (berries, peaches, plums, etc.), and one tablespoon of honey. Pour the mixture into ice pop molds (you can find these almost anywhere), and let them freeze for three hours. Yogurt is creamy but also provides and amazing flavor. Also, it’s a great source of calcium, protein, magnesium, and potassium. Yogurt also contains probiotics, which are a bacteria that help maintain a good digestive system.

I really hope you like this yummy summer treat. If you tried it, please post your comments or reactions below.
