1. Protect yourself from the sun

One of the most important ways to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. A lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems — as well as increase the risk of skin cancer.

For the most complete sun protection:

Use sunscreen. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. When you’re outdoors, reapply sunscreen every two hours — or more often if you’re swimming or perspiring.
Seek shade. Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the sun’s rays are strongest.
Wear protective clothing. Cover your skin with tightly woven long-sleeved shirts, long pants and wide-brimmed hats. Also consider laundry additives, which give clothing an additional layer of ultraviolet protection for a certain number of washings, or special sun-protective clothing — which is specifically designed to block ultraviolet rays.

2. Don’t smoke

Smoking makes your skin look older and contributes to wrinkles. Smoking narrows the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin, which decreases blood flow. This depletes the skin of oxygen and nutrients that are important to skin health. Smoking also damages collagen and elastin — the fibers that give your skin its strength and elasticity. In addition, the repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking — such as pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke — can contribute to wrinkles.

If you smoke, the best way to protect your skin is to quit. Ask your doctor for tips or treatments to help you stop smoking.

3. Treat your skin gently

Daily cleansing and shaving can take a toll on your skin. To keep it gentle:

Limit bath time. Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time, and use warm — rather than hot — water.
Avoid strong soaps. Strong soaps and detergents can strip oil from your skin. Instead, choose mild cleansers.
Shave carefully. To protect and lubricate your skin, apply shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving. For the closest shave, use a clean, sharp razor. Shave in the direction the hair grows, not against it.
Pat dry. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on your skin.
Moisturize dry skin. If your skin is dry, use a moisturizer that fits your skin type. For daily use, consider a moisturizer that contains SPF.

4. Eat a healthy diet

A healthy diet can help you look and feel your best. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. The association between diet and acne isn’t clear — but some research suggests that a diet rich in vitamin C and low in unhealthy fats and processed or refined carbohydrates might promote younger looking skin.

5. Manage stress

Uncontrolled stress can make your skin more sensitive and trigger acne breakouts and other skin problems. To encourage healthy skin — and a healthy state of mind — take steps to manage your stress. Set reasonable limits, scale back your to-do list and make time to do the things you enjoy. The results might be more dramatic than you expect.

5 Awesome Hair Tips You Must Try

1) Play hot-and-cold as you dry. When using a round brush to dry your hair in sections, start from the roots and dry all the way to the ends, letting the brush linger at the tips of your strands. Let your hair cool off like this on its own for five seconds, then repeat on another section. Alternating between heat and cool-down time helps set your style, and your blowout will have more body. – Cosmopolitan

2) Making Your Highlights Stand Out! If you want your highlights to show up more, poor one cup of V8 juice and let it soak up for about 5 minutes. Then rinse it out. – Seventeen

3) Avocado Hair Mask
Combine two egg whites with half of a mashed-up avocado; leave it in hair for 15 minutes, then wash and condition. It’s a fast and inexpensive natural remedy that leaves hair super-smooth. – InStyle

4) Coconut Hair Smoothie
“Once a week, apply a cocoa butter treatment mask, let it sit for a half hour, then rinse it out with coconut water,” says pro Marco Antonio De Biaggi of São Paulo. “The combination leaves hair incredibly soft and moisturized—it’s a trick of many Brazilian women.”- InStyle

5) Want Your Hair To Be Longer?
Adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes eating plenty of fruits, vegetables and lean meats. Your hair needs to be nourished from within to grow well so following an unhealthy diet will result in hair that doesn’t grow well and lacks luster. – hairgrowth-tips

Tips To Prevent Acne!

1. Wash Your Face Morning and Night
Washing your face is very important. By washing morning and night you clean out your pores. Dirt, sweat and oil get clogged inside your pores. By washing your face morning and night you can get rid of these yucky things.

2. Stop Touching Your Face!
Your hands have bacteria, dirt and oil on them. By touching your face it will just cause more acne!

3. Eat Healthy!
Friend foods and Sugery desserts can increase your chances of acne breakouts. Try to eat more vegetables and fruits! Also staying away from soda is another way to prevent breakouts.

4. Get Enough Sleep.
Sometimes you might break out only because you’re not getting enough sleep. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. This will improve your skin.

5. Shower Daily
By showering daily you keep your skin fresh and soft. This will also clean out your pores and help back acne. Washing your hair daily will keep the oil away, which will also help back acne.

One last thing, moisturize! This will always help. Whenever my face is starting to break out I use a lot of face moisturizer and it helps. Follow these tips and you should have amazing skin:)

How To Put On Fake Eyelashes

Social Share Toolbar

I don’t recommend putting these on daily, but when the time comes you will know how!
Step 1: Apply the glue to the inside of the fake eye lashes you bought. Wait until the glue becomes tacky.
Step 2: Attach the eyelash as close as you can to your natural eyelashes on the outer side of your eye lid. Start from the inner part of your eye to the outer corners.
step 3: Apply Mascara to make it blend better with your natural eyelashes.
It’s very simple. For taking them off wet a cloth with warm water and just hold it on your eye until it just comes off. Do not, try to pull them off as it may cause your natural eyelashes to be pulled off.

Make Up Tips From Felicity

Hi guys! Today I’m going to give advice on makeup and beauty (:

EYES

Ever wondered what eyeshadow you should use? Read below to find your match!

Blue Eyes: For eyeshadow try wearing shades of brown tinged with purple, taupe, or slate grays. Stay away from blue eyeshadow. If you want to experiment with more pastel-y colors, try a light pink color that will contrast with your blue eyes.

Brown Eyes:
For eyeshadow, I suggest using shades of pink or green. You can almost pull any shade, even brown eyeshadow, but careful; some tones may look muddy against your brown eyes.

Green Eyes:
For eyeshadow, I recommend shades of purple. If you want your eyes to pop out more, but still look natural, try warm shades of brown or colors with a bit of an orange undertone. Or earth tones with hints of other fun colors.

Which type of mascara wand you should use to get the look you want:

PLASTIC COMB:
Separates the lashes from each other. Gives a dark color and lengthens your eyelashes.

NATURAL BRISTLES:
Creates a light and natural look. Makes your eyelashes look fuller and voluminous.

PLASTIC BRISTLES:
Creates dark, full, and long eyelashes. (note: the bristles are rough)

LIPS

Dry lips? Try using Burt/s Bees Refreshing Lip Balm with Pink Grapefruit or Smith’s Rosebud Salve. Really hydrates your lips. (Both of which are my favorites)

Now a recipe to make your very own lip stain (credit to thebeautydepartment.com, summarized by me)

INGREDIENTS:
3 Blackberries 1 Raspberry, 3 Pomegranate Seeds, 1/2 teaspoon edible oil, a small Bowl + Spoon , Fork or Sifter to drain, small 5-gram Pot/Jar with screw top

STEP 1:
Mash the blackberries and raspberry in the bowl thoroughly with the back of your spoon. Add the pomegranate juice into the mixture by squeezing each 1 of them between your fingers over the bowl.

STEP 2:
Pour the olive oil into the bowl and stir everything together with your spoon.

STEP 3: Complete by draining the liquid from the mixture into your small portable jar.

Use your fingers, a lip brush or a Q-tip to apply. Refrigerate it for longevity. Have fun and even try it with different fruits!

That’s all for now! Hope my advice helped and you guys enjoyed it! Thank you :)
